Imbolc ritual tonight…I am privileged to give an astrological report. Here’s a preview:
Imbolc 2009, Sun in Aquarius, Moon in Aries
The First of February belongs to Brigid, (Brighid, Brigit, Brighde)—the light-bringer. At this time of year, calves and lambs are born and soft rain brings new grass. Ravens begin to build their nests and larks were said to sing with a clearer voice.
This week started out on a high-energy note, with the eclipse of the sun in conjunction with Jupiter. We’re right between that lunar eclipse and an upcoming full moon lunar eclipse in Leo. The period between eclipses can be tumultuous, especially now with Mercury coming out of retrograde. If you have key planets in Aquarius, and other fixed-sign planets in your charts, you will be feeling this especially keenly.
Mercury goes direct on Saturday 1/31, and will be in the shadow period—returning to where it turned retrograde—until 2/21. Everything may feel totally stuck and stopped at first, and changes will begin to happen as Mercury picks up speed over the next three weeks. Many loose ends will be brought together in the next two weeks, in our lives, in our communities, in our government.
Venus is entering her own retrograde shadow (she will be retrograde from 3/6 to 4/17—mostly in Aries) in Pisces on 2/2. This will affect money, art, love, pleasure and values. A good time to be cautious about impulse spending, and to rethink and recalibrate financial motivations and ambitions.
Lei making workshop was last night. So much fun. I was the first one finished by a long shot (I have nimble hands). So I made two!
So much fun. Tables and tables covered with flowers and hula bruddas and sistahs winding and winding raffia to their backing to create beautiful leis po’o (head leis).
I’m very grateful for the experience. For the hula community. I feel so lucky and blessed.
I’m grateful for work and my businesses. For my coaching clients and my graphic design clients. I love my work!
