Happy birthday, Grandma Mary. I honor you and my memory of you. Of your home in which I felt as safe as ever I felt in my young life. Of your down-to-earthiness. I thank you for teaching me how to knit and to play cards. (Yes, that’s me in her arms. Look at my little foot! That’s my Aunt Buddy in the background. Wish I knew where we were in the photo.)
Blessed be, Grandma. What is remembered lives.
I am stoked! I finally have a poker game and it’s tonight. I so missed my monthly game since I left Sacramento. And now there’s a new one! Small stakes (nickel, dime, quarter), dealer’s choice, three-raise limit. Small price to pay ($15–$20 max, if I don’t win) for the entertainment.
I am grateful for the joy and energy in my life.
I am very grateful for dancing. And for being willing to sit out the next few weeks of kneeling at hula class so I can rehab my knee. I know how much I judged my dad when he didn’t do what the body work people urged to rehab his hip and now look at him! He can’t walk w/o assistance and he lurches. So, even though I’m not post-surgery, I will attend to my body worker’s strong advice and stay off my knees for a few weeks. Heal, knee, heal! I call all the healing energy in the world to strengthen the tendons and ligaments and provide the right and perfect space for the bones to move with ease and ease and more ease. This healing is happening now. Has already happened. All is right perfect and complete in the perfect law of spirit. I release this intention and I let it go and I relax in the knowing that I will live to dance and dance and dance again! Blessed be.
