gratitude friday 4/25

grandmamary.jpgWhoa. Yesterday was my maternal grandmother’s birthday and I forgot.

Happy birthday, grandma. Thanks thanks thanks for teaching me how to knit. Yes that’s me in her arms. I am grateful for so much time with her in my life. For her easygoing strength. She was tough. She always worked. And she was very loving.

I am grateful for this woman in my life. I hope I do her honor with every stitch I knit.

I am grateful that this cleanse is over over over! Today is the last day. I will soon be done with the intense effects and happily move on in better health.

I am grateful for my hula sister saying Yes when I asked her to keep me in mind at class last night; there are questions about fittings that need answers and Holle agreed to ask for me. I took the night off; fell asleep watching tv in my zero-grav chair and rested my body.

I am grateful for my AA meeting. For getting to know people better. For finding out—again—that the stories I tell myself about how people don’t like me are made up out of old baggage and most often not at all true. I’m pretty funny. Human=funny=human.

I am grateful to have completed some high-end design work. Taking on new challenges.

I am grateful for every breath. For the sunshine. For warmer weather. For Robert Downey Jr. For his upcoming action movie that I plan to see. For my upcoming date with J. I love my life. I love spirit and the goddess. I love my witchy sisters. I am blessed.

I’m a barely tamed hippie, sage, seasoned, sarcastic (not all the time any more, but still). I’m a mom, a daughter, sister, a neighbor, and a friend. I’ve been on this meandering journey — like you, probably — seeking a better connection to and experience of peace, harmony, and fun in every bit of life. I’m single, quite good at it, and mostly love it. I’m here for the conversations I get to have with you, which these days center on exploring the mystery and beauty of life, work, health, aging, and creative expression.
