gratitude monday 2/23

second lineI’m grateful for my rich and varied life, and that I’m healthy and fit and present for all of it.brianna kaufman art

I’m grateful for new work colleagues and relationships. I’m grateful for a beautiful new website that’s almost ready to launch. I’m grateful for a very fun day Saturday making leis for my Lupercalia costume for Victoria’s party. Women all dressed as their favorite goddess. A strong Mardi Gras theme. Beads, zydeco music, dancing a second line in the street with kazoos and whistles. Great fun.

I’m grateful for attending Max Dashu’s—she of the suppressed histories—slide show of Slavic pagan tradition. Held at the house of a fascinating artist, Brianna Kaufman (that’s one of her spoons, left).

And I’m grateful for continuing with my sewing and creating. Andrew was kind enough to allow me access to his sewing machine yesterday. I completed six more squares.

And then came home and created some more fiber art.

I have had a brainstorm. I have decided that my first wall hanging will be the magnolias project. More on this later, as it develops.

Life is good and I have lots to do today. For this I am grateful. And for all of it.

Blessed be.

I’m a barely tamed hippie, sage, seasoned, sarcastic (not all the time any more, but still). I’m a mom, a daughter, sister, a neighbor, and a friend. I’ve been on this meandering journey — like you, probably — seeking a better connection to and experience of peace, harmony, and fun in every bit of life. I’m single, quite good at it, and mostly love it. I’m here for the conversations I get to have with you, which these days center on exploring the mystery and beauty of life, work, health, aging, and creative expression.
