As Mae Nam says, Persephone is here. What a beautiful spring weekend. Lots of time spent outside, gardening. Dove into my succulent garden and cleared the dead stuff and trimmed the overgrowth. Turned the big plants their semiannual quarter-turn to counter the lean. Rearranged, put some that need more light on higher shelves. Gave some particularly lovely ones more prominence. Stuck cuttings in the dirt and in some bare spots in pots.
I love growing succulents! They take so much abuse. I’m grateful for this lovely urban oasis in which I live.
I’m grateful to see people out and about again this year. Melanie has offered to mentor me in the vegetable garden. (Phew!) And share bounty. I am stoked; it’s less scary now knowing she’ll be watching out for me.
I gave Melanie a bunch of yarn; the bag full that resulted from decluttering my yarn stash. Glad and grateful that someone wanted it. And I showed her my quilt; she’s a budding quilter too!
I’m grateful for dinner with Kim on Friday; yummy food at Zatar and good company. She’s looking so beautiful and fit! I can see the results of the Pilates she’s doing consistently. Changing the way she carries herself.
I’m grateful for Stephanie’s help. I now have my shawl pattern (see right) and yarn picked out (a cranberry color; they were out of stock on my first choice). The yarn is ordered; I’ve got the needles. I’m going to add a bead in the center of each diamond. It’s going to be beautiful!
I’m grateful for dinner with dad and Laurie, his girlfriend. Grateful that she seems to be more relaxed with me…we actually had a conversation.
I’m grateful for participating in Earth Hour Saturday night. Turned off everything. Lit candles, did a spell honoring the earth.
I’m grateful for taking time to get papers filed and to continue my decluttering. Slowly but surely! Next up: the hall closet. Okay, I don’t have a hall. Let’s call it the coat closet. Can’t wait!
I’m grateful for the gathering of witches, priestesses and priests to celebrate Ladybug’s baby shower. Fun, laughs, hugs, gifts, lots of rubbing on her belly. I am blessed to be in this community.
I found the last series (as they say in the UK) of Hustle online and watched five of six over the weekend. Hooray for file sharing!
And I’m grateful for working on my quilt! I’ve been resisting. I got some more inches of the border sewn down. I’m inspired to do a little every day.
Life is lovely, I am blessed.
