gratitude monday 4/20

It’s the day of my parents’ anniversary. This day in 1947 was the date of their marriage. If mom was still alive today, it would be their 62nd anniversary. She died in 2005, a few months after their 58th….

The photo on the right is one of my favorites of mom. She looks like she’s thoroughly enjoying herself! She was a woman who didn’t smile much by the time I came into her life. I love seeing this beautiful smile.

The photo on the left is just so 1940s; making their entrance for their first dance. It’s a wonderful thing, to have all these photo archives.

I’ll call my dad today and hold space for him to honor the date too. Blessings, dad. Blessings, mom.

I’m grateful for Monday morning. A work week ahead full of possibility and creation.

I’m grateful for my blessed weekend. Everything from hula practice, ritual creation, getting gifted with herb cuttings by Rabbit, garden time planting the herbs and purple string bean seeds. Taking my time at the farmer’s market, strolling around, chatting with friends. Working out at the gym. Clearing more space in the house — bathroom closet and kitchen cupboards are done! Movie and dancing. And I even buffed my nails!

What a wonderful weekend. Life is a blessing.

Sharing birthday and Day of the Dead happiness — a gift for you!

I’m a barely tamed hippie, sage, seasoned, sarcastic (not all the time any more, but still). I’m a mom, a daughter, sister, a neighbor, and a friend. I’ve been on this meandering journey — like you, probably — seeking a better connection to and experience of peace, harmony, and fun in every bit of life. I’m single, quite good at it, and mostly love it. I’m here for the conversations I get to have with you, which these days center on exploring the mystery and beauty of life, work, health, aging, and creative expression.
