Gratitude Monday 6/20

Wow, art show opening has come and gone. Lovely event. We sold one niche and two photos! A very auspicious beginning to the exhibition of our work. Especially auspicious since the niche that sold is the one for Lakshmi (pictured left), the goddess of prosperity and protection.

I went to the beach Friday at dawn and wrote the name of each of the goddesses for whom we made altars in the untouched sand. I wrote Thank You under their names and said a prayer dedicating our art—that it may be of service and illuminate the lives, hearts and minds of those who see and buy it.

I filled two vials with seven pebbles each and some seawater. (Seven is Yemaya’s number, she the goddess of the oceans.) I inhaled the ocean’s beauty and presence.

I live, what?, ten miles from the ocean. Yet I don’t give myself the gift of going there often enough. I thrive at the beach. I thrive in the redwoods. I live in Oakland. I am making a new commitment: to give myself the life, joy and grounding I get there. All I need to do is go… Easy!

I am grateful to get some rest and restoration this weekend. Lots of time in the garden. Planting, weeding, harvesting.

Happy beautiful gorgeous Monday to all. Blessed be!!

Magnolias and my passion for them bring gifts. Let’s look at 3 of them.

I’m a barely tamed hippie, sage, seasoned, sarcastic (not all the time any more, but still). I’m a mom, a daughter, sister, a neighbor, and a friend. I’ve been on this meandering journey — like you, probably — seeking a better connection to and experience of peace, harmony, and fun in every bit of life. I’m single, quite good at it, and mostly love it. I’m here for the conversations I get to have with you, which these days center on exploring the mystery and beauty of life, work, health, aging, and creative expression.
