What a weekend! Full of wonderful women, ritual, ritual and more ritual. Solstice weekend. Hot sweaty rituals. A bonding gathering of my Amazon sisters Friday night at dinner pre-circle.
Drumming and circling. Cutting flowers and bringing food. The second ritual, outdoors on Saturday, complete with water balloons and an elephant lawn sprayer, and henna-ing sun symbols on each other. I have one on the back of my left hand; cool.
Time with my brother-in-law, teaching him Mac fundamentals. I have now brought three out of the four of my sister’s family over to the light side. Nice.
And yesterday, S’s procession as a Roman Catholic nun. Wow. Another room full of women doing ritual. Even if led by a doddering priest. Loving S and accepting this, her chosen path, has been a real eye-opener for me. I would never in a million years predicted that I would have a feminist lesbian cherished friend who would choose to convert to Catholicism and become a nun. Never. And it happened and she’s happy and inspired and passionate in her path. Blessed be!
And I got to be with my Sacramento family—my peeps—yesterday. My gang of close treasured friends. First time I’ve gotten to be with all of them at once in years. And C&M gave me a ride so we got to have a nice long visit.
Blessed day! Blessed weekend.
And work got done too; all last night.
I am happy and content and it’s Monday and I am good good good to go.
My card for today: The World. Life is lovely.
