gratitude monday 8/31

The end of August. And my torrid summer romance continues. Mellowing deepening and still torrid. How wonderful is that!

Here are pix from our outing on Saturday. Ferry to the Farmer’s Market in the City. With Leila and her family from SoCal. What a beautiful hot sunny gorgeous day. Strolling the market. Tasting yummy food. Being with lovely people. My woman and her family.

leilaAnd then we all crowded into my little house for dinner here. The five of us ate and spent lovely time together until it was time for me to go see my dad.

Other wonderful moments of the weekend: Walking in the redwoods with Rowan, looking for my crone’s staff. Found it. Found many, in fact. Chose one then another then another. Finally settled on a light, straight redwood branch with a lot of character. Am humbled and happy to have found such a wonderful staff.

More stuff going on with my dad. Looked at the third of three assisted-living places; this one impressed me. I vote for it now. My sister wants to take more time with the decision. Different styles.

Dinner with Andrew and Leila last night. Love introducing Leila to my cherished friend Andrew. We had a great time eating and schmoozing. Effortless.

A beautiful late summer weekend full of life, love, connection, grief, joy and passion. I am so blessed. I am so grateful.

I’m a barely tamed hippie, sage, seasoned, sarcastic (not all the time any more, but still). I’m a mom, a daughter, sister, a neighbor, and a friend. I’ve been on this meandering journey — like you, probably — seeking a better connection to and experience of peace, harmony, and fun in every bit of life. I’m single, quite good at it, and mostly love it. I’m here for the conversations I get to have with you, which these days center on exploring the mystery and beauty of life, work, health, aging, and creative expression.
