It’s chilly and has been softly raining all week. Ramping up to calendar spring. Some of the seeds I planted in my little garden patch are sprouting. Hardy greens: kale, chard, spinach, mizuna, tatsoi.
And a tray full of the same seeds sprouting here in the house. Will get them into the garden this weekend.
I’ll be snipping my greens soon. Yay!
I’m grateful for this little miracle of digging in the dirt and growing edible greens and other veggies. Still bowls me over. I’m from Brooklyn. My relationship with what I eat has certainly changed.
I love living in Oakland.
I’m grateful for my life and the loving friends in it.
I’m grateful for my sisters of choice, and for my sister of blood.
I’m grateful for my loving daughter, who returns my calls and visibly/audibly enjoys me in her life as I do her.
I’m grateful for health and fitness.
I’m grateful for the chutzpah to perform at an April Fool’s event.
I’m grateful for being willing to practice and practice and practice. Turns out I didn’t really know the Shim Sham routine well—it’s easy to fake when I’m dancing in a crowd. It’s so fun to practice dance!
I’m grateful for gratitude practice.
I’m grateful for my sharp mind. For two legs that hold me up and let me move. For nimble hands that allow creations of all kinds.
I’m grateful for cooking and eating fresh and healthy food. For making and drinking kombucha.
Life is good. I revel in blessings! Full moon in Virgo on Saturday, sun enters Aries (spring!) on Sunday. Spread the joy!
