I’m grateful.
It could be worse.
Whatever it is that’s driving me batshit; it could be worse.
And for that I’m grateful.
Thoughts/ideas like this help me stay focused especially when things are looking dark:
“Those who bring sunshine to the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves.” — James M. Barrie
“To educate yourself for the feeling of gratitude means to take nothing for granted, but to always seek out and value the kind that will stand behind the action. Nothing that is done for you is a matter of course. Everything originates in a will for the good, which is directed at you. Train yourself never to put off the word or action for the expression of gratitude.” — Albert Schweitzer
“Let us be grateful to people who make us happy; they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.” — Marcel Proust
“He is a wise man who does not grieve for the things which he has not, but rejoices for those which he has.” — Epictetus
“The thankful receiver bears a plentiful harvest.” — William Blake
“The greatest happiness you can have is nowing that you do not necessarily require happiness.” — William Saroyan
“Happiness depends, as Nature shows, less on exterior things than most suppose.” — William Cowper
“Life is huge! Rejoice about the sun, moon, flowers, and sky. Rejoice about the food you have to eat. Rejoice about the body that houses your spirit. Rejoice about the fact that you can be a positive force in the world around you. Rejoice bout the love that is around you. If you want to be happy, commit to making your life one of rejoicing.” — Author Unknown
“Better keep yourself clean and bright; you are the window through which you must see the world.” — George Bernard Shaw
“I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.
I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final goodbye.”
— I Wish You Enough, Unity Church
The Shaw quote is the one that really speaks to what I do every day. I wish I was having more success with it these days. I have a lot going on and I need to work on enjoying it with some grace.
Blessed be.
