gratitude thursday 9/4

This is the gratitude list I dream of writing and self-censor.

Gratitude. Right. Sure. No worries; easy. Right at my fingertips. Just let me part the curtains, the leaden curtains of self-hatred, resignation and bitterness. Easy, no problem. Just let me drag them [ugh, this is hard!] out of the way.

Okay, now I can find the little silver thread that leads to the small shining stash of positive thinking I’ve been able to jam into a tiny space next to the stacks and crates of old lists and recordings of negativity.

Enough. I could do more, much more in this vein. I was called to stop the censoring and express more honesty about this process. Speaking gratitude every day (or close to every day) is still a challenge; some days a big fat challenge.

That said, I’m grateful for health, wealth, friends. For living a life of integrity. For being my word. For taking care of myself. For making decisions and living them consisent with my values.

I’m grateful for my connection to spirit, when I allow myself to feel it. I’m grateful for friends and loved ones. I’m grateful for family. I’m grateful for beauty. For blues skies and sunshine. All is well. I am blessed.

Sharing birthday and Day of the Dead happiness — a gift for you!

I’m a barely tamed hippie, sage, seasoned, sarcastic (not all the time any more, but still). I’m a mom, a daughter, sister, a neighbor, and a friend. I’ve been on this meandering journey — like you, probably — seeking a better connection to and experience of peace, harmony, and fun in every bit of life. I’m single, quite good at it, and mostly love it. I’m here for the conversations I get to have with you, which these days center on exploring the mystery and beauty of life, work, health, aging, and creative expression.
