gratitude wednesday 12/26

I am grateful for a wonderful quiet christmas day. I am grateful for sunshine and cold air and a walk around Lake Merritt with friends. I made it all the way around the lake; that’s a first!

I’m grateful for cooking up a storm making food for the holiday dinner at my sister’s. Roasted brussels sprouts with shiitakes, shallots, chard and snap peas. Grilled sweet potato wedges. Yum yum yum!

I’m grateful people like what I cook. That makes me so happy.

I’m grateful to be roused from my bed by the ringing of the phone and having it be my daughter wishing me a happy christmas. I love that she has her own ringtone on my phone and that I know it’s her when she calls.

I’m grateful for bills paid and numbers entered in quicken. For being right with my money.

I’m grateful for the crowd of people at my sister’s. Nice folks.

I love that dad liked his framed photo of the two of us that I made for him. Made me feel great.

And that Barbara liked her photo that I made.

I’m grateful for the movies. I saw the new Denzel movie tonite. I love movies.

I’m grateful grateful grateful for my rich and lovely life.

Sharing birthday and Day of the Dead happiness — a gift for you!

I’m a barely tamed hippie, sage, seasoned, sarcastic (not all the time any more, but still). I’m a mom, a daughter, sister, a neighbor, and a friend. I’ve been on this meandering journey — like you, probably — seeking a better connection to and experience of peace, harmony, and fun in every bit of life. I’m single, quite good at it, and mostly love it. I’m here for the conversations I get to have with you, which these days center on exploring the mystery and beauty of life, work, health, aging, and creative expression.
