I am so grateful! I get to invoke—and act—Ame-no-Uzume at our Yule ritual. Uzume is the Japanese goddess of merriment; she’s the one who got Amaterasu out of the cave by getting everyone laughing (by her bawdy dancing) and making Amaterasu curious enough to come out, bringing back the light. I am so honored that I get to do this.
I am grateful for opportunities, for receptivity, for intimacy, for lovingkindness.
I am grateful for dinner with my sister. I love her company.
I am grateful for my Monday meeting and my Monday workout. For a parking spot right in front of the gym.
I am grateful for my Sirius programming calendar. I am loving listening to the Bob Dylan Theme Time Radio Hour. He’s an amazing DJ, riffing on whatever theme occurs to him. And listening to Dennis Elsas again (a boyfriend from my teens, a forever WNEW-FM DJ). So much fun! My roots music. My roots DJs.
I’m grateful for warm bedding on cold nights. I’m grateful for fleece clothes and Uggs. I’ve caved and run my space heaters a bit, but not yet turned on the wall heater.
I’m grateful for a clean house. For healthy food. For being such a good cook.
Life is good and I am blessed.
