gratituesday 5/25

peleheartLook at this! Pele’s heart.

The lava shot up a heart shape and this brilliant photographer—G. Brad Lewis—got the shot.  And my beloved Rabbit brought me back a print from the big island. I am blessed. It sits still covered in cellophane on my work altar, blessing all I do with her love, until I find the right and perfect frame. Then up on the wall it goes.

  • I am grateful for this wonderful gift, as well as for the time spent with Rabbit, all aglow from a week on the big island, soaking up the aloha second-hand. Which, for this year, will have to do.
  • I am so grateful for my almost four years as a hula student. Although I’ve stopped now, I feel powerfully and permanently connected to the culture and beauty of all things Hawai’ian. I think a part of me has always and still lives there, thrives there, knows it as home. Sigh.
  • I am grateful. Life is good. And I am ready to create the most wonderful online portfolio for myself today. When I get to where I’m dreaming about layouts and functionality I know I am ready. Rockin’ on!

My gratitude jar

I’m a barely tamed hippie, sage, seasoned, sarcastic (not all the time any more, but still). I’m a mom, a daughter, sister, a neighbor, and a friend. I’ve been on this meandering journey — like you, probably — seeking a better connection to and experience of peace, harmony, and fun in every bit of life. I’m single, quite good at it, and mostly love it. I’m here for the conversations I get to have with you, which these days center on exploring the mystery and beauty of life, work, health, aging, and creative expression.
