gratituesday 9/2

September? Wow.

A long weekend; forgot to post yesterday. Just lifted my eyes from a period of time of doing research for my trip to Hawai’i. Fun! Found Kalani Oceanside Retreat in Pahoa and Dragonfly Ranch Healing Arts Center in West Hawai’i near Honaunau Bay. Also the Butterfly Inn in Kurtistown is still a candidate. Fun decisions to be made!

I’m grateful for time with Allen at lunch on Friday at Zatar, my new favorite restaurant in Berkeley. Yummy local veggies and sustainable meat deliciously prepared. When I asked for hot sauce, the kitchen made some harissa for me! Wow. Awesome. I can’t wait to go there again. Oh yeah, Allen’s company was delightful too!

I’m grateful for this weekend of time spent with Rose. Bringing three cherished friends with me—Heaven, Melissa and Rowan—really helped! How wonderful to see Rose interacting and being inspired by my friends. How nice to be in a different dynamic with Rose.

I’m grateful for my new workouts; now I swim and run in the pool alternating with pilates practice. Cool. Hope I can stay with the pool practice even when the weather cools.

I’m grateful for hula practice and my hula community. Funny; they’re calling me a hula zealot now (amazing what practicing at home will do for me).

Time at mom’s grave with family on the third anniversary of her death. Nice. And dinner with family. I’m grateful for the loving connections with the generations of my family.

I’m grateful for money in the bank and income and knowing where my dollars are and choices made about spending and saving.

I’m grateful for time with Shari at the Art and Soul festival. Danced to “Every Day I Have the Blues” to a good jazz band. Fun!

I’m grateful for time on Skype calling my sponsor every week in Mexico. Connecting with Kat regularly; better than I did when she lived here!

I’m grateful and blessed.

I’m a barely tamed hippie, sage, seasoned, sarcastic (not all the time any more, but still). I’m a mom, a daughter, sister, a neighbor, and a friend. I’ve been on this meandering journey — like you, probably — seeking a better connection to and experience of peace, harmony, and fun in every bit of life. I’m single, quite good at it, and mostly love it. I’m here for the conversations I get to have with you, which these days center on exploring the mystery and beauty of life, work, health, aging, and creative expression.
